Covid19, Charitable Giving and Collectivism: a data-harvesting approach

Abstract This paper charts responses to urgent appeals by welfare charities through crowd funding websites in order examine the impact of Covid19 pandemic on public generosity and social cohesion UK. It uses a relatively new method policy research, data-harvesting. Online giving local for vulnerable people sky-rocketed during crisis, despite long-established stigmatic treatment able-bodied poor working age, decade benefit cuts, increased stringency Universal Credit long-term downward trend charity incomes. Welfare rhetoric that surrounds it is increasingly divisive, although most spending addresses needs or risks confront all us.
